12:00noon - 5:00pm 20th June: Clayhead & Secret Museum will be opening its doors for a public conversation about the practice of ceramic shard collecting. Socially Engaged Artist Nicola Winstanley invites you to join the conversation; to talk about why you do it, how and when you do it, and to examine and catalogue some of your favourite finds. Danny Callaghan & Ceramic City Stories volunteers will join Nicola to help out.
This event is part of a wider project by Nicola, which you can read about at https://www.a-n.co.uk/blogs/shards-an-a-n-bursary-project/. As an avid shard collector herself, Nicola is keen to meet other people with a penchant for pottery pieces.
Drop in any time between 12:00 - 5:00pm, bring all, some or one piece of your collection and spend a relaxed afternoon with us, celebrating our treasures and the stories that surround them.
If you don’t collect shards but are interested nonetheless, you’re also very welcome to drop in and find out why we love it.
