BACKGROUND: The Firing Line was established in 2001 from a ceramic store run by R & J Wilshaw Ceramic Tile Co. They supplied ceramic tiles to both the retail & trade markets & had a small manufacturing plant. The creation of The Firing Line in 2001 saw a major investment to launch this specialised ceramic tile manufacturing company.
The Firing Line is both innovative & versatile in production techniques enabling us to match shapes, profile & sizing very accurately. We have a unique capability to manufacture ceramic ware with a glazed edge & are one of the very few who manufacture white biscuit ceramic items.
We manufacture ceramic bisque tiles, both square & rectangular, from fridge magnet size up to 200mm x 200mm. Also specialising in producing coasters & circles from 3.5 inches to 12 inches in diameter; supplying the ceramic industry with general production lines & specialist commissions including reproduction Victorian Tiles. Working closely with a glaze manufacturing laboratory; we can match almost any texture & colour of glaze using locally produced glazes.
We have produced specialist tiles for: London Underground, Whitbread (Costa Coffee), Bass Brewery, Banks Brewery, The Royal Air Force, Various Churches, Private and Commercial Reproduction Victorian Work, Public Swimming Baths, The Army, Reproduction Mosaic Work in the Bahamas, Craft Companies.
