‘CLAYHEAD': Window showcase of 50 small scale ceramic items made by potters, ceramic artists & creative contributors from (or with close associations with) Stoke-on-Trent. The display aims to contribute to the British Ceramics Biennial (11 September - 17 October 2021) & Heritage Open Days 2021 It can be viewed ‘remotely’ from Swan Street during opening times. This collection aims to offer an eclectic, ‘self selected’ cross section of a few of the city’s many makers & some examples of their creative ceramics.
The window will be open on a regular basis during the following days & times throughout the BCB festival (11th September - 17th October):
Every Thursday (10:00am - 3:00pm)
Every Friday (10:00am - 3:00pm)
Every Saturday morning (9:00am - 12noon)
*We will also open as & when possible at other days & times but this is dependent on other commitments. If you plan to visit the BCB outside the regular days & times listed above & would like to view the ‘Made in Stoke-on-Trent display; please get in touch with us & we will do our best to open the window showcase to coincide with your visit: hello@ceramiccitystories.info
Opening times & dates between Friday 10th - Sunday 18th September are part of national Heritage Open Days 2021 (Please note: Friday 10th September is also included as an additional day; ie the day before the official start of BCB).
‘MADE IN STOKE-ON-TRENT’ ONLINE EXHIBITION: The window showcase can also be accessed online here: CLAYHEAD Exhibition. This virtual exhibition offers additional information about the items & the creative people that made them. Links (QR codes) will also be displayed at the physical window display to also enable visitors to Swan Street with smart phones to access this additional information about the ceramic items & makers including direct contact details for sale enquiries.
